Private luxury wine tour in a presidential Citroën

It was a most memorable day having a private guided trip in a 1970s Citroën convertible. Guillaume was very communicative in advance in working with me to plan a suitable itinerary. The Michelin-starred lunch at Lalique Restaurant and the tour and tasting at Château d'Yquem were exceptional. Overall a great experience. Thanks Guillaume!

Our day featured two chateaus and their wonderful wineries. The chateau's were beautiful. The production process of great wines was shown to us. The guides were very personable and charming. The wine tastings featured three tastings each of some of the best vintages. We were fortunate in that it was right in the middle of harvest. Pickers were in the fields and the production was really going on. We also had a beautiful lunch at a wonderful restaurant attached to the second winery. What a spread of meat and cheese plates so beautifully presented and great tasting. It was so relaxing sitting in a beautiful garden eating and engaging in conversation with interesting people. The ride in the special classic Citroen through the Medoc countryside was memorable. The private car for the four of us made everything so comfortable. No worries about being in a group tour. The personal attention was special. The car received numerous waves and smiles as we drove along. It made us feel special too. Booking was easy. We had previously gone on the City Tour when we arrived in Bordeaux. It really got us familiar with lovely Bordeaux. The follow-on reservation to Medoc was a natural extension. You have got to get out of the city and explore what a gift the wine region is. Yes, the tour is expensive, but you are paying by car not individually for the transportation. The lunch and wine tastings are additional. Overall, the comfort, attention, beauty, and the lovely people make this a memorable experience. Just add a wonderful day to your Bordeaux experience.

Guillaume is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide to Bordeaux and his classic car is the perfect way to see the region. Everything was organised perfectly with lovely wine and caneles while we were driven around. His recommendations for two different and very interesting wineries were exactly what we were hoping to be shown, and the ease of having him organise these tours for us was great. A comfortable drive took us to a private guided visit of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, an exquisite and worth seeing Château. This destination with the vintage DS can be recommended not only for the excellent vines but also for the Lalique glass art collection.
