Cousin & Compagnie

Founded in 1993, Cousin & Compagnie is one of the oldest independent wine cellars in Bordeaux and a pioneer in the introduction and commercialization of biodynamic and natural wines since the mid-2000s.

Firmly convinced that the preservation of our natural heritage also depends on vineyard and winery practices, at Cousin & Compagnie, 90% of our selection consists of organic, biodynamic, or natural wines from family estates or independent winemakers.

Visiting our Bordeaux cellar means discovering rare gems from all over France and abroad, whether they are Grand Crus or “friend wines.” A true cabinet of curiosities, Cousin & Compagnie can satisfy both novices and connoisseurs, as well as those seeking unique finds.

Sustainable commitments

Delightful and Organized

I highly recommend this wine tour in St. Emilion and Medoc--I'm new to the region and Chihiro's guidance gave me and my fellow travelers such great knowledge to grow on. All four of our wine tour tastings were excellent and the beauty of the region is uncompared. Lunch was also fantastic--highly recommend!

Excellent cruise experience not to be missed

Highly recommended cruise. Seeing Bordeaux at night from the river adds a different layer to your journey. The entire staff was very professional, the food was surprisingly good and the wine selection was very good. We would definitely do it again on our next trip. It was a first-class operator run very smoothly and the views were breathtaking. Thanks to the entire Bateaux Bordelaise team!

Easy to use, value for money tool when visiting Bordeaux, it covers most of the city's musea and allows for unlimited access to public transport. Highly recommended.

Wonderful walking tour

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable - able to answer any questions we had. It was very helpful to hear her explanations in English as well as French. The tour lasted about two hours and covered many of the interesting sites and lanes in the city. The tour was well-worth the time and cost - I would definitely recommend it.

It motivated me to get out and do things

I found City Pass easy to use at all of the locations, and the person at the tourist office provided lots of helpful info. The best thing I used it for was Bassins des Lumières, which was incredible, and it was great to be able to go without a reservation. I wish I could have returned the next day for the second show, but it was limited to the Matisse & Frida Kahlo. Overall, though I did the calculator on the website, I'm not sure I got my money's worth with City Pass. I didn't feel the unlimited public transit was terribly valuable, as the city is so walkable I barely used it during the two days I had the pass--I rode 1 bus, 2 trams, and one water taxi. Most of the places I wanted to visit were inexpensive art museums, and two out of the three museums had very little art on display. More significantly, the booklet indicated the wrong dock for the boat tour, and it had a photo of a different boat. I wound up walking a mile out of my way because I was confused. I wanted to do both the train and boat tours, but you could only choose one. I think if you want to do a bunch of expensive museums, it's worth it. And the transit would be worth it if your mobility is limited. The best thing about this was it motivated me to get to a bunch of places I probably wouldn't have gone to otherwise.

Answer from Monsieur l'Office de Tourisme et des Congrès de Bordeaux Métropole

Dear Gillian, we thank you for your message and your kind comments about our welcome desk team. We are really sorry to hear that you did'nt totally take advantage of our city pass, especially because everything is detailled on our website. We offer a calculator so that every person can decide whetheryo buy it or not. Moreover, as we work with several boat companies, we don't mention the dock for the boat tour on our booklet, but only on the ticket given once the reservation made, to avoid any mistake or misunderstanding. The choice that must be made for the city visit is also clearly stated. We hope that despite all, you appreciated our city pass, do not hesitate for a future trip to ask for details to take fully advantage of our City pass. best regards The Tourist Office Team
