I recently took part in a tour and, overall, my experience was mixed. The guide spoke English with a strong accent, which made it quite difficult to understand at times. Thankfully, he switched to Spanish, our native language, which made it somewhat easier to follow. However, I noticed that the information he provided in French was much more detailed and comprehensive compared to what he shared in English. At times, the English explanations were very brief or, in some cases, completely missing. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this tour to someone who doesn’t speak French, as it’s really hard to grasp the full details of what’s being explained, which is the whole purpose of the tour. On the positive side, I do believe the guide was competent, but I think this is more of an issue with the organization. Offering a tour in a specific language should ensure that it’s understandable to all participants, as people are expected to absorb a lot of information in a short amount of time.

We took the tour in English the morning after we arrived in Bordeaux as a means of getting our bearings in the city for our six-night stay. There were just six people in our group and the two hours just flew by. Our guide Alex was a friendly, relaxed, witty and knowledgeable, and was passionate about his city. We learned a lot of fascinating history about Bordeaux and its ongoing development up to the present day. In the days after we revisited a number of places we had discovered on our tour, including Le Bar au Vins and the boho Utopia cinema. The tour was great value for money. Highly recommended.

Al was incredibly knowledgable about the history, archaeological design and mythology behind various important buildings and the fountain. We enjoyed his tour very much and would recommend it to those who enjoy an in depth description. Not for those wanting a speedier quick chat on more buildings. He really only covered 4 places but in great detail.

This gave us a lovely look at Saint Etienne, the surrounding countryside and a nice visit to a historical, 11-generation family owned winery. The guide, Anaka, was very well spoken, had a bright personality and made it a fun experience for all. Would definitely recommend this experience.

This is a half day tour to St. Emillion. Bus ride to/from St. Emillion from Bordeaux. The tour provided a lot of information and history of sites. The tour of the old church in St. Emillion was really neat. There was free time to wander St. Emillion and then, we toured a winery! We were explained the entire process of a small winery and then sampled two of their wines. This tour was GREAT value. Thank you Bordeaux Tourism.
