With a local wine expert, enjoy a tasting workshop, between the atmosphere of a wine bar and a course of oenology in the heart of Bordeaux, 2 steps away from the Grand Theatre.

A workshop to acquire in-depth notions such as: terroir, grape varieties, appellation, classification, vinification/winemaking, aging, storage and the art of wine service. No knowledge is required to attend this experience, you will learn while having fun on site!

The tasting will start with a first glass of white wine, allowing you to learn the key steps of the tasting with a universal method.The tasting will continue with 3 glasses of regional single grape variety red wines to understand their characteristics and the interest of blending, a common practice in the region.

Finally, you will taste 2 fine wines, one from the left bank, the second from the right bank, one of which is a Bordeaux grand cru.Wines will be paired with fine local charcuterie and cheeses to enhance your immersion in the local culture, while learning some basic knowledge about food and wine pairing.

A travel through Bordeaux and its wines, no more hesitation on the choice of the bottles after this class!

Excellent wine master-class in downtown Bordeaux.

I liked all that this masterclass included, it was very well organised and covered a good range of wines. I recommend it for those who are new to wine up to those with good experience. Bordeaux is a great place to test your knowledge of wine and try those you may never have had before.

A good overview of Bordeaux wine and wine appreciation in general

Our host was able to transmit her knowledge and passion for Bordeaux wines in a simple clear way so that I believe even second language English speakers would understand. Technical information about the different soils, grape varieties and blending was very interesting and helped give a deeper understanding and appreciation of the joy in drinking wine. Even if you have been drinking wine for a very long time there would always be something more to add to your appreciation of Bordeaux wine in particular. We were able to taste 7 reds and one white so it was very good value for money and we would highly recommend booking. Please note that if you cannot pass the smell/bouquet test do not worry as even this was a good experience.
